We had our Awards Celebration 2012 in the iconic Round Building in Downtown Orlando! This venue was donated by the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts - another connection to the world of art for our event! The circular building nicknamed the Round Building was designed by Robert Murphy, Orlando's first modern architect in 1962.
How fitting to have Canstruction® celebrate in a round building!
Dana Taylor from MIX105.1's morning show revealed the winners of this year's competition.
Joseph Allan White provided music to start the evening.
Our celebration included Orlando Museum of Art's presentation of Arti's Artsy Award for the structure that the Curator of OMA, Hanson Muford determined to be the best identifiable to the theme of ART. OMA also provided a basket of Museum goodies for the winner of the Juror's Favorite!
We also honored our first recipient of the Carolyn Thomas Postive Ch'i Award, Sasha Hausman. Sasha embodies the the core of this award - someone who loves life, has a passion for what they do, has a spirit of selflessness, and the attitude that every day will be positive if you give it a chance!
Congratulations to our winners for 2012!
